Living In A Box - Room In Your Heart

Ok this song might not be so great. It's too soft for my taste. Just thought I share this and you like it. The group has 2 albums, and this song was taken from the first one. If you like it, sing it with the lyric.

Janet Jackson - Love Will Never Do Without You

Released in 1990, the song "Love Will Never Do Without You" was the seventh single from Janet Jackson's fourth album, "Rhythm Nation 1814." This song was one of my favorite from the album. I think this album was also the best album that Janet Jackson ever recorded. I was still on high school when I heard and bought the album. Read the lyric here.

Manhattan Transfer - Let's Hang On

Manhattan Transfer has evolved and changed over the years. The song "Let's Hang On" was a hit back then, one of the group's song that reach the top ten hit because it has a pop beat. Check the song's lyric here.

Celine Dion - It's All Coming Back To Me Now

Celine Dion was a great diva, though I don't quite like some of her songs. However, there is one song "It's All Coming Back To Me Now," that was written by Meat Loaf, that was really great. Just like any song written by him, the song is very long and the lyric is repeated again and again. The video was also remind me of Meat Loaf's video. It has story with start and ending. I'm sorry the video can't be embedded. You may check it directly here. Enjoy the video and sing it here.

Check also the live version in Memphis 1997 below.

Just last year, Meat Loaf, the writer, made a new cover from this song. He sang it with former M2M member, the lovely Marion Raven. Check also the video below.

And the live version of Meat Loaf and Marion Raven can be seen below.

Meat Loaf - I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)

"I's Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" is a Grammy Award winning song composed and written by Jim Steinman, and recorded by Meat Loaf. The song was released in 1993 as the first single from the album "Bat out of Hell II: Back into Hell." As any other Meat Loaf's song, it was very very long (7 minutes), and the lyric is repeated again and again. However, for me, the combination of rock and opera in the song was really great. It's great to hear it again and again.

Irene Cara - Flashdance... What A Feeling

Irene Cara is an American singer of African, Cuban and Puerto Rican descent. Cara won an Academy Award in 1984 in the category of Best Original Song for co-writing "Flashdance... What a Feeling". It's one of classic song that I really like. Check the song's lyric here.

New Kids On the Block - Hangin Tough

Way back to 1980s when the first generation of boy band appeared. Yey, it's New Kids On The Block (NKOTB). In their first album, there are lots of big hits. One of them that I liked back then was Hangin' Tough. Anyway, do you know that they just had a reunion and start to tour again. Just enjoy this classic hit and sing along with it.

Jingga - Tentang Aku

One hit wonder song can happen anywhere, even in our country. The song "Tentang Aku" (translated to About Me) was sang by Jingga, a duet who only published one album. The song was really famous that recently was covered by popular Indonesian jazz singer, Andien. Read the lyric and chord here.

Winger - Miles Away

Just like the Wiki said: "Miles Away" is a single released by the American glam metal/hard rock band Winger, from their album "In the Heart of the Young." Released in 1990, the song was a hit back then. You can sing the song here.

Damn Yankess - High Enough

A great song way back when I was entering high school. The group was one of my favorite back then. I remembered listening and singing this song over and over again. Another great classic rock tune!! Check also the lyric here.

Pretty Boy Floyd - I Wanna Be With You

I only know this Pretty Boy Floyd from one album, the one that has "I Wanna Be With You" in it. Just like the name, the group's lead singer dressed himself to looks like a pretty boy (remind me of Boy George). The song itself was (I think) quite lame than other slow rocks from the same generation. Just check out this video and its lyric, if you'd like.

Kix - Don't Close Your Eyes

Another classic not too popular rock band who's not too popular in the 80's, but still has a great single. One slow rock single from Kix that was quite famous was "Don't Close Your Eyes." Still prefer listening to Skid Row than this, though. Check its lyric here.

Kla Project - Tentang Kita

Another classic song from Indonesia, brought by the legendary group Kla Project. The song "Tentang Kita" (or translated to "About Us") was uploaded to YouTube by Kla Project's lead singer, Katon Bagaskara. This song was from 1988, and was the first video made by Kla Project. Dreams - Kiss Me Red

Now this is a really really rare song. You can't find the MP3 on the internet. Trust me, I've looked everywhere. This video from YouTube wasn't too good either, directly transfered from a VHS recording. I'm also sorry that I can't find the song's lyric. Anyway, the song came from TV series "Dreams" featuring a group of people forming a band. Two of the series cast that later famous wwere John Stamos and Jami Gertz. Hope you remember the series, way back in 1984.

Suzanne Vega - Luka

This is one of my favorite 80s song. The song "Luka" from Suzanne Vega second album, "Solitude Standing," was famous back in 1987. I trully love the song beats. I also find the lyric and the chord here.

Check also her live performance below.

Nena - 99 Luftballoons

Nena, a German singer, born with the name Gabriele Susanne Kerner, launched "99 Luftballoons" in Germany with success hit. The song then was translated to English "99 Red Balloons." The meaning was meant to be the same, though as usual, translating a song is difficult, especially when it was forced to have the same rhyme. You can check both version's lyrics here.

The original German version.

The translated English version.

Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger

This info is from Wiki: "Eye of the Tiger" is a song performed by the American rock group Survivor, and is taken from the album of the same name. It was released on January 1, 1982, and was written at the request of Sylvester Stallone for the film Rocky III.

The song was really inspiring for me back then. And Rocky III was the best Rocky of all! Enjoy this live performance in Japan concert tour, while sing the lyric here.

Level 42 - Running In The Family

Another group from the 80s that has excellent songs, Level 42. Back then, they were famous with the "Running in the Family" song. The group was disbanded in 1991 and was reformed again in 2001. I really love this song. Check also the lyric here.

Steel Heart - She's Gone

A classic ballad song from rock group band Steel Heart. The group was only famous from only one album. The song "She's Gone" reached #40 on the Billboard Charts in 1991. Anyway, check the video and lyric here.

Debbie Gibson - Electric Youth

Debbie Gibson was famous back then in the 80's. She was the Britney Spears on that era, though with a bigger nose. All her songs were pop with a bit of disco in it. Another song that was famous from the same album was "Lost in Your Eyes." Haha, and I still remember how I and most of my high school friend look for Playboy magazine when she was appeared nude on that magazine. Anyway, check the song below and sing it here.

Voices That Care

A decade ago during Desert Storm, a group of artists sang the song written by David Foster, Linda Thompson, and Peter Cetera. The song called "Voices That Care" was intended to help boost the morale of U.S. troops involved in Operation Desert Storm, as well as supporting the International Red Cross organization. Some musicians that were involved are: Celine Dion, Michael Bolton, Nelsons, Luther Vandross, and Kenny G. If you'd like to sing, check the lyric at this website.

Madonna - Cherish

According to Wikipedia, "Cherish" was the third single by American singer-songwriter Madonna from her 4th studio album Like a Prayer and was released on August 1, 1989 by Sire Records. This song is one of my favorite song from the album. Love the tune, I guess. The video was also great, showing a boy turned mermaid (or is it merboy?). Check also the lyric here.
